The trailer for "From Tragedy to Triumph" is now out! https://fhcenter.org/indianapolis-youth-programs/elevation/
The film is focused on topics of re-entry, causes & solutions to crime, and recidivism. It gives a platform to six inspiring individuals as they design dialogues and create space for voices that aren’t normally heard or asked to weigh in on these topics. Each of their stories is truly impactful and worth hearing.
This documentary was created in partnership with Pace Indy, The Blue House, and Agile Management (Michael Lee). It would not be possible without the support of the Central Indiana Community Foundation's Elevation Grant which built on the Enhancing Opportunity in Indianapolis grant we received from the Lilly Endowment that is funding our Rise Program. Thank you for your generosity.
In the next two weeks, we'll be releasing the full documentary and asking for your feedback. As we enter the next phases of this project, YOUR feedback will be crucial to keep the discussion going. Please stay tuned and let us know what you think.
This topic is near and dear to us at FHC. For the last 19 years, we have seen great success in having many of our Center’s students graduate from high school and become gainfully employed or pursue their post-secondary education. Despite these positive anecdotes, we have also had students who have experienced trouble with the law and faced or are facing incarceration. Additionally, we see some of our students between 20-30 years old begin to have Mental Health and Emotional concerns due to lack or support in dealing with trauma from their past. We hope by surfacing stories like this, we can open up the discussion in our community around these issues.
